This Month's Showcase Event It is our belief that people who love cottage living and the simple life also have a great appreciation for art in many forms, including good music.  With this caveat in mind, for our first monthly Showcase Event, we are featuring the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, held annually during the third week of February at the University of Idaho in the small college town of Moscow, Idaho. For more than forty years, some of the greatest names in jazz have gathered here in a demonstration of how the power of jazz and education can be used to bridge cultures, inspire creativity, and develop the musical leadership abilities of the next generation of jazz leaders. In 2006, John Clayton, renowned bassist, arranger, composer, jazz educator and long time Festival friend, joined the Festival as artistic director, and his dedication and passion are certain to enhance the prestige of this event.
