Cozy Inn Costa Mesa
REVIEWS
I recently had to find a place to stay for a couple of nights while my house was not available, I chose the Cozy Inn Hotel as it was centrally located in Orange County and was relatively inexpensive. I was not expecting a 5-Star hotel experience, and I did not get one. What I did get was incredible customer service, a very clean and spacious room, and a housecleaning staff that was excellent at making sure any needs I had were taken care of. My plan was to stay there for two nights and to move back to my home. During that time, I needed to be able to work from the hotel room, which meant I needed reliable Wi-Fi service for my computer to hook to. A couple of times the internet Wi-Fi dropped out, and each time the site manager, Kora, was immediately on top of it to find the issue and restore service so I could continue to do my job. That alone was very commendable, but Kora proved himself even more gracious and accommodating when my two-day stay turned into a 10-day stay and I had to extend my bookings. At each extension Kora worked to keep me in my same room, keep the rate as low as he could and to make sure I was comfortable. Even once on a late night return, when I found I had left my room key card inside the unit, he was happy to step down from his personal nightly activities and get me into the room so I could grab the card. And on the one occasion during the entire time, when a nearby guest got out of hand because she was locked out or her room and began to violently bang on the windows and doors and yell at her boyfriend inside, Kora talked her down from her hysteria and kept her calm until the boyfriend, who had been in the shower, came out and let her back in. That took some patience, some great people skills and not a little bit of courage to deal with a person who could have gone next level crazy and caused both personal and property damage. As a final note, as I mentioned before, I was not expecting a five-star resort. Frankly not even a four-star one. What I did get was a very clean room with a minifridge, microwave, coffeemaker, AC/Heater, satellite TV and plenty of space. The room was clean, the towels plentiful, and in fact, I am not sure what sheets and blankets they used, but I had some of my best nights sleeping in the provided bed, Kora and his team made what was an unexpected 10-day disruption in my life about as stress free as it could be and I am very grateful for their efforts and the hotel. I highly recommend the Cozy Inn for those seeking a mid-quality hotel that is centrally located to the OC area and all of its amenities; Disneyland, the beaches, the shopping, great dining and so much more. The price is very reasonable and the staff are dedicated to your comfort. You can’t ask for much more.

Deserve 0 stars First off my tv didn’t work or my heater.. saw plenty extra rooms available but they tell me there sold out which was a lie. In my closet I tried to put my roll suitcase but to find out they got a huge construction project going on in the closet that’s dangerous for anyone staying in that room. Took them 5 hours to come and try and fix my tv just to not fix it. Sinks clogged and shower. Then want to call you at 10:55 to wake up or get charged a late fee for not checking out the exactly at 11. Save your money & stress and stay anywhere else.. you’re even better off staying in your car..I travel daily for my business. I stay at more hotels than most. 7 hotels in 7 days sometimes.. this is by far the worst stay ever. Was the exact opposite of cozy

I rarely write reviews, even for poor service, and this is actually my first one, which is really disappointing because I like to support small businesses. However, the customer service and overall experience at this place were beyond unacceptable. My girlfriend booked the room, and when we arrived, we were immediately hit with a foul odor in the room. The bathroom was filthy, and it was obvious the room hadn't been cleaned properly in quite some time – it looked like it hadn’t been swept in ages. We tried to settle in despite the unsanitary conditions, but as I got under the bed sheets, I was poked in the knee by an earring that had been left under the covers just showing even more how unsanitary the room was. We went to the front desk to inform them, and the guy gave us a key to another room to check it out. It was in slightly better shape, so we told him we'd take it. However, when we went back to gather our belongings from the first room as instructed by him, less than five minutes later, he came in and rudely told us to hurry up and move quicker. His attitude was incredibly unprofessional and very rude. At that point, we requested a refund, and instead of handling it calmly, he argued with me and became even more rude. The state of the room was disgusting, with safety hazards like earrings in the bed, which made us question if the sheets had even been washed in the first place. Overall, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. Staying here means paying for dirty rooms, rude service, and unprofessional staff – it’s easy to find a much better place than this hotel in Costa Mesa.

We would stay here on a regular visit to California and was always happy and pleased with the accommodation. We recently stayed and were not impressed at the condition of the rooms. The first room had an electrical problem in the bathroom and when my son sat on the bed it tipped over. The second room was okay except someone had stolen the cable box and we were surprised that staff had not noticed the box was missing after cleaning the room.also the bathroom door was rotting and did not close properly 😐 curtains were barely hung up and I was also charged $50 dollars that I was told would be refunded.

I am leaving this review to warn others of some previous bad experiences my girlfriend and I had at this hotel. We stayed here twice between jan-feb 2025 while our condo was being renovated downt the street. Both times, the hotel did not return our full security deposit. The first time was 15 dollars for a dirty towel. I just accepted it. Second, they took the entire $50 deposit and claimed it was due to dirty towels. We stayed one night and used 2 towels!! we were extra careful with the towels. I tried to explain to the hotel manager that any dirt on the towels would have come from their dirty floors, and he told me I shouldn't stay here if I don't like the conditions of the room. I am an insurance agent and work in an office, so it's not like I'm tracking in jobsite dirt into the room. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I just wanted people to be aware that they will try to nickel and dime your security deposit away.
