Costa Mesa Inn

The hotel itself was okay, just about what you would expect for the price. It was generally clean, the people above were being loud but that can’t be controlled. The issue was at the front desk, because we got charged for the stay but when we got there they said it was cancelled due to the card being declined, but we received no notification and almost stayed without a place for the night. It felt like our room was given to someone else for a higher rate and we were being up charged. The man at the front desk was not understanding of the situation and didn’t want to work with us until we escalated to the booking agency.

BUGS!!! I have never left a hotel during a stay before but this one we ran out of. The pictures online show this place as clean with a nice pool. This place was run down, dirty especially the sticky carpets and an awful smell, but the clencher was the BUGS!!!! The pool was surrounded by a rusty fence with unkempt foliage and it was empty and disgusting. I really try to support small business. So the first night when we saw one bug and the floors were gross I tried to overlook. But after we had been gone from our room for the next day we returned to our room to find it covered in bugs, running across the tables, night stand and on the beds. We were so shocked and sickened we shook our stuff out quickly and left. My regret is not taking photos for you all to see proof of the bugs. We tried to get a refund but we couldn't find an attendant and became nervous and left because the pub goers were flowing into the parking area around the check in office and they were pushing each other and getting aggressive so we just left.

Everytime we entered the room there were multiple bugs to be squished(ON THE BEDS WALLS AND FURNITURE), about 10 mins of hot water in a 2 bed room. Reeks of old smoke and moisture. Haven't dared to do anything on the property without shoes(including shower). Pool facilities seem to be closed indefinitely given older reviews. I honestly believe every review over 2 stars is bought and paid for.

Normally clean hotel. Front desk gentleman very professional and courteous. Entire room had hair everywhere especially under pillow as tho they didn't change sheets but only pillow cases. Bathroom tIub disgusting and toilet floor not mopped or cleaned. 2 adults yet 1 decaf and 1 regular coffee pack. 2 half toilet paper rolls and no extra so by the time we checked out we had no toilet paper. Maybe I was given worst room in hotel on this busy weekend. We stay often but 1st floor. This time we were on 2nd floor and I don't know if we will be back since it was so dirty.

Our room was quite dirty and infested with insects. At one point, we placed a glass of wine on the side table, and within minutes, insects were inside the glass. Additionally, upon our arrival, the reception staff handed us the room key without offering any directions or assistance. We were simply told the room was “on the left,” and we had to drive around to find it ourselves. Given the poor conditions and service, I would never recommend this place….
