We were able to book a room a few days before our stay without any issue. Saw the ocean from the room every morning! Each room is provided with ear plugs and a white noise machine to help with outside noise. I really appreciated that, slept very well. The water pressure in the shower and sink could be better but overall this is in a great location! We will be booking here again in the future!

Cannot beat this experience, ESPECIALLY for the price. 2 minute walk from the beach, close to a bunch of very nice restaurants and bars and the rooms go beyond "getting the job done" in terms of a place to stay. In total, I paid ~$400 for 3 days in a clean, well stocked king room with a balcony--the same thing at any other hotel in the area would easily run you at least $750 for 3 days. No crazy amenities like free breakfast or anything, but honestly the simplicity of the hotel is its strong point--less is more, because there's so much to enjoy in this part of California and this place does a wonderful job of complementing its surroundings.

This hotel is akin to a sort of adult dorm room. The furniture isn’t lavish but is genuinely functional. The bed is comfortable. The plumbing, heating and air work perfectly. There is a fridge in room and a community room with utensils and microwaves. I loved being able to get things like fresh towels and toilet paper when needed from the community closet too, without bothering the front desk staff. Speaking of staff, every single one was awesome and personable. Friendly. Helpful. Key code access is great! Location was across the street from the beach. Couldn’t get better. It is a hotel that is EXACTLY what I needed. My room had a sound machine and ear plugs. I didn’t need either of them. My only wish was to have something to hang a hand towel on outside of the bathroom by the sink area. Otherwise, not a single complaint!

This is my favorite location when staying in Newport. I’ve been a guest at this hotel throughout the years from back when it was a Best Western even. I love the new updates and furniture now that it’s a Sonder property. I have a few suggestions—and these would not stop me from staying here, these are just from my point of view. We enjoyed your coffee pods a lot, but the lobby coffee maker definitely needs cleaning/attention since it’s used frequently. People leave their used pod in the machine which causes grounds to get in the next persons coffee and clogs the needles. Sleeves are needed to carry the paper cup back up our room because it’s super hot that way we don’t waste another cup. The coffee maker in the room only brews a 10 oz cup so the rooms need bigger cups. Small individual flavored creamers in the rooms would be a nice touch. Bathroom could use a few more towel hooks. I love the new convenience of using the app to check in and out and access our room. See you next year!

The service was amazing. The floors of my room were making my feet dirty the whole time unfortunately. Other than that, the room was tiny yet nice. One of my lamps stopped working and the tv also stopped turning on. Also, they don’t have room keys which I found better than having to use one! You use your phone. But it’s yet another business that has its own app which I don’t like. All in all, it was alright. Just not exactly resort quality like I thought it would be.
