This review is purely on golf. I’d be happy to rate the Ranch at Laguna five stars but the recent rate increase to $95 to walk a nine hole course is outrageous. I used to play there frequently and it was 55 to walk, which isn’t terrible, but also not great for a short nine hole. The increase to 95 for nine hole is something I just won’t do ever again.

I always have fun playing Ben Brown's. It's a fun 9-hole par 3 nestled into the Laguna hill side. Deer and other wildlife come out to feed in the mornings and late afternoon, which is fun. They're clearly socialized, which is cool. You can play most of the course with irons or hybrids and can walk it as long as you're good at stepping around the muddy-bog patches. It's a short 'resort course', so it's expensive for 9 holes and plays super slow on weekends. But it's really peaceful, beautiful, and fun with a couple of narrow fairways and water features that make it challenging.

I live in Laguna Beach and just went online to book a round of golf and saw the green fees are $110!!! That's for 9-holes people. What a joke! Way better options in South Orange County for that price. What a shame.

Dining & service are a cut above. A great resort for a romantic weekend with a spa, a 9-hole golf course, access to a beach, hiking trails. What more can you ask for.

Stopped by *The Ranch* for lunch with a friend who lives in the area, and I was pleasantly surprised! The place has a unique charm—modern yet with a cozy, woodsy vibe that instantly makes you feel welcome. Every staff member we interacted with was attentive and friendly, adding to the great experience. We ordered the bone marrow, shrimp pasta, garlic fries, and a Bloody Mary. Everything was absolutely delicious! The food was seasoned to perfection—the shrimp pasta had the perfect balance of flavors, and the garlic fries were crisp and packed with flavor. The Bloody Mary hit just right, too. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for a memorable meal in a relaxed, charming setting!
