Cute dog friendly hotel in Laguna Beach! We stayed in a Garden room which was an ok size - a bit small but fine for us. Loved the breakfast each morning that consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, egg bites, banana muffins, etc. And they serve chocolate chip cookies in the evening! They have on-site parking that didn't cost extra outside of amenity fee, free to add mini fridge to room, and the $100 dog fee for the stay was reasonable. Every staff member we interacted with were friendly. Location wasn't too far from the main strip of restaurants and shops (maybe a mile) but you need to drive / free Laguna Beach shuttle. Issue is that there's no reliable sidewalk or street crossing in front of the hotel.

It is definitely a boutique experience. Rooms are boutique. Bathroom is boutique and showers are really boutique….boutique shower fixtures in your face if you are over 5’5 tall. I’m not sure how rooms here run close to $700 a night. Def recommend using hotels tonight or something if you want to book here. Parking is fairly horrific.

I am very picky with hotels and I always do research before staying anywhere. I would describe this hotel as charming. If you are used to luxury book their best rooms. I had a room with a patio but at the check in I was offered a complimentary upgrade to a suite which is a bigger room but located to the front of the hotel near the main road. I am sensitive to sounds, so I stayed in the patio room. It is small. Okay for one person, can be tight for two depending on what you are used to :) Bed and mattress is a matter of personal preference. Breakfast and parking are included with a resort fee (about $40), I think you can decline it, but speak with the reception. The building of the hotel is older but there’s a beautiful atmosphere. You’ll have great pictures! There’s a pool and spa I’d say is not what most of us are used to in spa hotels. They have a technician on call which will come and provide a massage of your choosing. I’d say it’s a bonus to the hotel. Prices for massages are reasonable comparing to other places in spa hotels in OC. I didn’t get the service but you feel like having a massage, I think it may be worth a try. There’s also EV charging stations in the parking lot from a third party for a fee. Opportunity to charge if needed. Overall, it’s a boutique hotel. It’s not Four Seasons or the Ritz with its service and luxury. But like I said, it’s charming and has a character. It’s cozy. Just pick your room right and enjoy your stay!

Beach adjacent quaint property, which sadly is all this place really has going for it. Room was incredibly small, just enough space for the bed and night tables. The private balcony was nice and unexpected from the room description online. So I did appreciate that, but it was not at all comfortable accomodations for a couple. Although they claim the hotel has recently been renovated, there's no indication that's been done since the 90s, except a new mattress and bedding and maybe a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom shower was ancient with a shower that barely trickled. The limited electric outlets placed in totally inconvient locations were so loose, power adapters would routinely fall out of the completely worn out single available outlet, or you had to unplug the inadequate lamps they left in the room. Cell phones didn't exist the last time they designed this room. The wotst part was, this place calls itself a spa but in reality, has no meaningful spa services available on the property and has the gall to charge you $80 for 45 minutes to soak in what is basically a shallow outdoor bathtub. When I think of a hotel calling itself a spa hotel, well I think of you know, a spa. Everything here was about the upcharge from the second I arrived and the illusion of luxury for what is a charming and historical property, but a very no-frills basic experience. For what I could have and eventually did pay to extend my trip eslewhere in the area, even the base rate was kind of galling. They also tell you the only place to park is on the busy Pacific Coast Highway unless you're willing to pay the $40 daily parking rate on check in, which turned out to not be true. There was entirely accessible street parking in the immediate neighborhood in addition to the excessively tight and always busy parking lot they provide for the fee. They tried to justify it by saying it includes breakfast, but as I knew that would not be something my partner and I would end up enjoying it was actually just another annoyance because it made me feel like I was also paying for something I knew I was not going to use. A giant disappointment all around, essentially. The staff was very nice though.

Really poor customer service. Reserved a room, got a confirmation email, confirmed we can check in late and was told the front desk had staff at it until midnight and that we could call after midnight if needed. Arrived at 11:45pm and William at the front desk told us there were no more rooms and that he does not have our reservation. I told him I have an email and screen shot of my confirmation and he said no. I asked him to pull up the reservation to tell me what happened and he did not pull anything up but told me the rooms are full. I asked him how this could have happened and told him he needs to pull up my confirmation number and he said he does not have access and that my card was declined. I showed him my card has a transaction for the deposit and he said that the payment was declined even though my card has the transaction as having gone through. He was incredibly unsympathetic, refused to look anything up or help us in any way and then scolded us for not calling to confirm after we had previously been on the phone with them to confirm late check-in and the pet policy. William did a very poor job and if he is telling the truth about this, then this hotel does a very poor job at reservation management. At the very least, if I get a confirmation number and have a reservation after checkout online on the hotel's website, they have a responsibility to contact me in case of any issues, including cards declining, a mix up in reservations, or anything else. Casa Laguna really failed here and this is a terrible level of service. My fiance was crying tonight and my fiance is heartbroken over having had our anniversary weekend ruined.
