For any lover of cottages and cottage lifestyles who was fortunate enough to have been in Charleston this past Spring, the Symphony Showhouse provided a stunning opportunity to view the best in cottage décor and furnishings. Maine Cottage, a leading retailer of cottage furniture and home accessories, was asked to create a cottage feeling for a 4,000 square foot 1940's Arts and Crafts bungalow near the Battery Row area of this historical city. Headquartered in Yarmouth, Maine, but with a showroom in Charleston, Maine Cottage was the perfect choice for this task and its selection of furniture, fabrics and bold color scheme turned the home into a cottage classic for this special occasion. The result was a "family gathering place" permeated with an atmosphere of comfort, joy and practicality.  Each room overflowed with a spirit of warmth and conviviality, accented by a vibrant combination of "beachy" colors that visually balanced all of the rooms and created a uniform sense of casual cottage elegance.

Accented by the bold coral hues of Maine Cottage fabrics on the comfortable high-backed chairs and windowseat cushions, this room provides an inviting nook for conversation and family gatherings.
