Fond memories with meeting many friends at this place in the 90's. Tea dances on Sunday were nice. Is the cafe and bar and motel closed now?

This place really deserves zero stars. I want to start off by stating I travel often and I am used to staying in a variety of places, but this location was unacceptable. First of all, the place smells terrible and like it has not been cared for in years. The bathroom is super small, almost to a point of being dangerous. You are touching the sink as you are using the toilet. All of the wires are run under a carpet and plugged into the same extension cord (which is using the only outlet in the room), which is a clear fire hazard. My husband, who is 5´8,´´had his feet hanging off the bed. The paint was chipping off the night stands and other places around the room as well, including the balcony. The carpet felt like it really had not been cleaned in months, if not longer. we tried to communicate with the hotel about these issues, but they never responded. Any photos posted by this owner are fake. We have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I am begging anyone traveling to this area to avoid this place at all costs. There are other motels along the same strip (for example The Capri Inn), which are only slightly more expensive, but significantly better. Do not waste your money here and do not compromise the safety of your family. I am truly not sure how this place has any reviews above one star.

Great view and location. The bathroom was tiny (TINY) but the view made up for it. Especially when we all day out and about. If you're looking for a place to sleep with the sound of the ocean this is a great spot. Also a trolley runs through town Friday evenings and Saturdays with a stop right in front. Coffee shop across the street is also pretty good.

We booked for our first anniversary. Honestly the room is tiny and old fashioned, which is great. The view from the balcony was even better. Absolutely breathtaking. The reason I gave it a low rating is the person who rented the room to us on Airbnb. He was extremely unwilling to be helpful with a simple request. The showerhead in our bathroom literally sprayed water in every direction except at the person taking a shower. We asked him to replace it as it was basically impossible to take a shower and not only did he refuse, but gave us weak excuses about how it didn't hinder our use of the shower. On top of that there was a dark brown stain on the box under the mattress. While I understand that this isn't a hotel, I feel that cleanliness and a working showerhead are basic things every Airbnb I've ever started at has provided. I would rate 1 star if it wasn't for the gorgeous views and the quaint room.

Be careful and make sure you ask for square footage of room you are renting. The room I stayed in was $300+ and you couldn't even sit on the toilet without hitting your knees on the sink. Balcony was so small, certain rooms share balcony. Very disappointed ☹️.

Customer feedback reveals mixed experiences. While some cherish nostalgic memories, recent reviews highlight significant issues such as poor maintenance, safety hazards, and lack of response to concerns. Guests have noted unpleasant odors, outdated wiring, and cramped spaces, with one traveler urging others to avoid it due to safety risks.
Despite its historical significance, current conditions suggest that Coast Inn is no longer a recommended stay. Travelers are advised to consider alternatives like The Capri Inn, which offers similar pricing but better facilities.
If you're drawn to the area for its natural beauty and cultural heritage, it's wise to explore other nearby accommodations that offer a safer and more comfortable experience. While Coast Inn holds historical value, it's important to prioritize your safety and comfort during your visit.
