Sonesta Simply Suites Orange County Airport

Our dishwasher did not work and 4 days after bringing up the issue they finally let me know they are aware the dishwasher needs to be replaced. When they removed it the wall behind it was covered in black mold. When I let front desk know Rosa was extremely rude and threatening and refused to change my room. It took half an hour and intervention from another guest for her to finally contact the GM who agreed to change my room. The next day GM Daniel told me it’s not mold. However Santa Ana code enforcement had a different opinion and opened a case against this hotel. They also made some false accusations that I damaged a room I was staying in. But I took a video of the room upon checkout and it was fine other than the fact that they did not do any housekeeping for the entire two weeks I was there.

This motel - yes motel is absolutely disgusting. We arrived after a long drive. The lobby and hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. The front desk said it was because of the exit doors. Wrong. It is seeped into the walls and carpets. We went to our room and there was fuzzy black mold COVERING the AC unit and black mold around the creases in the ceiling. There was one door on the way to the room that you could hear people inside and the lock was duck taped and the door was dented with black dirt from a footprint from where the door was kicked in. Not even the door was wiped down. It is absolutely disgusting. We grabbed our stuff and demanded our money back and left. It is disgusting. It had been on our list because I thought it would be easy with them serving breakfast in the morning, but after seeing the way that they keep their actual rooms, I cannot fathom actually ingesting anything this place would have to offer food wise. Save your money and go somewhere else. Your health isn’t worth it.

Lobby attendant took forever to check me in, even though I was the only guest in the "line". Parking is $7 per day. Hallways are stinky. Rooms are dirty and smelly. Would give 0 stars if I could.

We stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites Orange County Airport for five nights during our trip to LA. In hindsight, I wish we’d researched the location a bit more, as it was quite a distance from LA Union Station and North Hollywood. For future trips, we’d probably book something closer to LAX or central LA for easier access. That said, the experience at the hotel itself was lovely. When we arrived, we were greeted by a cheerful and helpful front desk clerk who had previously lived in Canada, which made for a nice connection! Check-in was hassle-free, with our reservation ready, and the front desk area was clean, organized, and had an artistic touch by the sitting area, adding a welcoming feel. Our room was spacious and comfortable—possibly because we had an accessible room, but regardless, it offered plenty of space. The room was clean and equipped with a full-sized fridge with an ice maker and a medium-sized kitchenette with basic appliances, which allowed us to prepare a few homemade meals during our stay. This feature was a big plus, adding to the comfort and convenience of our stay. The location of the hotel is close to a strip mall and a Walmart, making it easy to pick up any essentials. There’s also a bus stop right in front of the hotel with an Orange County bus that took us directly to the Santa Ana Metrolink Station. From there, we could take the Metrolink train to Union Station, which worked well for our trips around LA. Overall, we’re happy with our stay at Sonesta Simply Suites. Despite the distance from LA’s main attractions, the amenities and service made our visit comfortable and enjoyable. If we have a reason to be in this area again, we’d definitely consider staying here. ######### - I noticed that your responses to reviews are somewhat generic, with auto-replies for both positive and negative feedback. Just a thought—personalized responses would go a long way in making guests feel appreciated and valued. When we take the time to share our experiences, whether positive or constructive, it’s reassuring to know our feedback is genuinely heard. Personalized replies can create a stronger connection with your guests and show that you care about every experience. ******* Ironically, within minutes of my review, (Nov 12th, 2024 at 1.24pm PST) I received the same standard reply I’d mentioned, which felt like my feedback wasn't actually read.

I was planning on only staying for a few days. Unfortunately, I got pretty sick and had to bunker down in my room for a period of time. I'm so lucky I choose Sonesta because their rooms had everything I needed while I was sick. Clean room Clean dishes/silverware Very hot and relaxing shower Very peaceful and quiet and I mean Quiet. I was able to sleep with no disturbance. Full fridge/freezer (not a mini fridge) Laundry Safe and secure parking Friendly staff All the boxes were checked off here. Ended up staying six days. Thank You!
