Motel 6 Santa Ana, CA - Irvine - Orange County Airport

Picked this place because it said it would charge $66. Came back from driving pretty far so decided to stay there. Paid over $100 for a room not the $66 that it said. I took the room because I was already there and was going to waste more time looking for another place. Stayed there for about an hour and some change. The room was okay very simple, but the toilet didn't work. Then my girlfriend was dealing with some stomach issues. So I had to leave to take her to the hospital. I told Nick (front desk person) about the situation and a refund since I won't be staying there. Left my key cards and left Motel 6. After I got situated, I called Motel 6 and talked to Nick about what happened and told him about the toilet because I forgot. I also asked him about the refund again, he told me to call at 11:30 the next day when the manager came in. I also advised him to leave a note for me. The next day, I called at 12:10. I talked to the front desk lady, and forgot her name unfortunately, and told her about the situation. She said there was no note and she asked me what room I stayed at. She then put me on hold for about 10 minutes. She said she couldn't issue a refund because the room was used. In my head I'm thinking "well no duh lady obviously it was used, there's nothing but a bed and a random chair to sit on in the room. I was there for an hour and some change. Plus the toilet didn't even work!" Overall bad experience, wouldn't recommend, felt like my money was stolen. Thumbs down

Very decent for a budget motel. Quieter than I expected and my second-floor room had a small balcony, which was appreciated. Staff members are friendly and professional. Rooms are quite spartan in terms of amenities and toiletries, but the AC unit looked pretty new and was flawless. Location is near the freeway and plenty of things to do, which is great, but be prepared for occasional airplane noise since it's in the John Wayne Airport flight path.

Good place! We arrived at the hotel three hours before check-in, but the manager Nalini said that we don't have to wait and checked us in without waiting in a free room of a higher class and with a good view without any extra charge! Thank you! Very good attitude to customers! We recommend this hotel!

I’ve stayed at this location before because it’s excellent value for the money and I am traveling with a dog. Rooms are bigger than most, clean, and upstairs rooms have an outdoor balcony with many overlooking the pool and spa. This location is very close to the OC airport which could be a plus, but during busy hours the noise of incoming planes can be loud. However, if you close the patio doors the noise isn’t that noticeable. The staff are helpful and friendly, and a special bit of gratitude to Nalini who was extremely helpful when I checked in. I almost never take the time to leave a comment, but the helpfulness of the staff prompted this response.

Front desk's help was so amazing. She upgraded us for free. And also, let us check-in early. She gave some great recommendations to grab a bite and drink. The rooms were vlean and beds were comfy.
