Hampton Inn & Suites Santa Ana/Orange County Airport

Please read other reviews carefully before staying here! I love Hampton Inn’s but this one needs a lot of work. We couldn’t check in early due to it being full the night before, which was fine. But once we got into our room, it looked like it was just halfway cleaned. The pillows on the chairs and little side tables were in weird spots and it just didn’t feel ready, but we dealt with it. We also didn’t have enough towels, and got them from the front desk. Later that night we wanted to go swimming, and the pool was FREEZING! I booked this hotel due to it saying it had a HEATED POOL. My kids had to play in the hot tub. There were also no swim towels, so I had to call the front desk and ask for some. When the head maid brought them down, she stated that the pool had never been heated. Lovely. We also called the front desk because the air wasn't working in the room and they said they would send someone up but they never came. Eventually it started working. And the unit is in the room - very odd. The first night, my girls had a weird fuzzy looking bug in their bed. GROSS. The next day we found out they do not have room service every day, ONLY EVERY OTHER DAY. So by the time we left, we had a ton of garbage and towels. The breakfast is good; some days, you will get eggs, and other days you won’t. It gets very crowded in the small room they have it in, and VERY HOT! I was sweating! On our last night, the hot tub was NOT hot. We called the front desk, and they told us the Maintenance people don’t work weekends, so deal with it! WOW. I would look at other hotels in the area and not stay here.

We checked into the Hampton Inn & Suites last minute, while wanting to leave the horrible hotel across the street, Embassy Suites (see my review there - we literally checked out the same day we checked in - that's how bad it was - yuck!). The staff at Hampton Inn & Suites couldn't have been more helpful - they were so nice and pleasant - we got a great room for less than the run down hotel we wanted to leave - and they were nice enough to waive parking for us. The rooms here have been renovated and were super nice. Housekeeping was great. I couldn't recommend more highly. Location is perfect - you can get anywhere quickly - rooms clean and comfortable - free breakfast, and coffee/tea, etc., in the lobby at all times. They even had breakfasts packed up for people who wanted to take it with them - that was so nice. We really enjoyed this stay and will be staying at this hotel again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I’m a long-time Hilton Diamond member who booked directly via Hilton app, landed at LAX and received a strange email saying my reservation was canceled. I called the hotel and they told me it was because my card was declined. Strange, but could have simply been a typo in the card number when booking or something simple with an easy fix. I told the receptionist that I have plenty of cards and that I could present the card physically at check-in. She responded by saying they would not honor my reservation which put me in a situation of having to find another hotel, at the last minute (11 PM) and pay a way higher rate. Luckily, the Embassy Suites across the street had availability and agreed to match my original rate at the Hampton. Beware and think twice before booking with these crooks.

Horrible hotel. Stayed 2 nights with my family. I agree with a lot of the other comments that this place is more like a cheap motel than other Hampton Inn’s I’ve stayed at. My daughters didn’t want to sleep in the beds after finding live insects in the covers the first night. No daily housekeeping either, so I got to change out all of our towels and stuff myself. The pool isn’t heated even though their own website says it is. The hot tub also stopped working and was cold by the second night. Breakfast was okay but incredibly over crowded. The only justification I can think of for their ridiculous $20 per day parking fee with zero surveillance is them just trying to squeeze all they can out of us people who made the mistake of staying here because they know we won’t make the same mistake twice.

I've stayed at this property a couple times and booked a 3rd stay already! Front desk staff, Jennifer and Aislinn are fabulous and fast at getting me checked in! Spacious clean rooms, (bathrooms could use an update). WiFi is strong, Parking can be tight if hotel is full. Clean gym and lobby has coffee. Felt safe and relaxed on property. Breakfast area is very clean with a variety of food and drinks. Easy in and out to the freeway, airport a few minutes away, Huntington Beach 20 minutes.
